“Howard Stern Show fixture Artie Lange walked out of the studio after an argument and subsequent outburst at his personal assistant on the air.
Lange, who became a part of the show’s daily routine in October of 2001, was spotted disputing with his assistant in the hallways off the air. When it was brought up to Stern, he asked the assistant Teddy to come into the studio and discuss the situation on the air.”
Yes it’s true, this morning there was a blow up between Artie and his assistant Teddie. I missed the actual conflict on air but heard the discussion about it afterwards. There was alot of talk being thrown around, and Artie walked off the show. According to the article in Newsday:
“Artie then offered his resignationl; Stern accepted, but told Lange to leave and cool off. Just before Lange left he told Stern: “I’m not a good person … I gotta leave … I love you”"
If Artie did indeed say this, then things have gotten serious. As any fan knows, Artie is scheduled to travel to Amsterdam for Jason Kaplan’s bachelor party etc. What’s scarry is that just the other day Artie was mentioning that when he was over there with all the other guys that he didn’t want to hang out with them, wanted to be alone but that he would take them out one night for dinner.
An Artie blowup plus Amsterdam plus alot of tempting drugs and women don’t really mix well. We all hope Artie stays safe…we love you man!

I hope Artie is okay. I think he has something else going on and Teddy was the one he lashed out at.
Artie did say “I’m not a good person … I gotta leave … I love you”” Why did Howard accept his resignation? If Artie doesn’t have the show he will spiral downward. I think it is the only thing that has kept him frm the edge so far.

Artie is a smart and witty comedian. Hopefully he will be smart enough to NOT do anything stupid and to realize that there are alot of people who love him. Hopefully if he does get to that point of no return that he remembers the good times with his family, especially his mom, and that he snaps out of it.

Censors His Show
Today, Howard Stern censored his own show, by canceling the West Coast replay of his show. The orginial broadcast contained the resignation of Artie Lange, but the schedule rebroadcast if the show, was replaced by Monday’s replay.
Stern is a hypocrite, as a paying Sirius customer, I am dismayed that Stern would censor his own broadcast,” said South. I pay to hear the show and to censor it, is unacceptable. Stern should immediately start rebroadcasting today’s show and apologize for the censorship.
I followed Stern to Sirius because he promised uncensored radio and this must include all that happens on the air. Shame of Howard Stern for failing his listeners.
that sucks. I can’t believe Howard shut down the west coast replay. I just caught the tail end of the East coast broadcast and tuned in to hear the rebroadcast. I love this show. I love the interaction and as hard as it may be to listen to or as sad as it may be to hear them fight its what makes this show different than any other show out there. Howard this is a sad day. Sad for the fight between the guys but even sadder because you chose to edit the show.
I’m sick of Artie being a self destructive hateful and violent member of the show. He is a big dumb baby who is funny to mask some deep mental problems and daddy issues. He had a good run but good riddance to this white trash loser. The auditions for a new comedian will be cool.
Why aren’t they replaying this show today. THAT is the saddest thing, to think Howard would censor the show or keep a violent loon on the show after verbally attacking many people and throwing things like a spoiled child.
Sean South - Stern self-censors for the first time in 26 months (on Sirius) and you admonish him for it? Think about what went on today. Artie does not need to hear that replay, and frankly, why would anyone want to? His explosive personality simply would not handle it well.
Today was disturbing. What I just heard was a mentally ill individual in Artie making rash, seemingly paranoid accusations, and acting out irrationally. I think everyone is within their right to feel concerned for Artie. At the same time, I don’t believe Howard acted improperly.
I do feel that everyone, especially Howard, tends to be naive in their dealings with Artie. Yes, Artie is a 40 year old man, but he’s clearly got a litany of issues that bring him down a couple decades. I think it is clear that the Stern staff’s standoffish, “he’ll help himself” approach to Artie backfired today.
I really hope he doesn’t do anything self-injurious. Amsterdam would be a bad idea…he might need to be committed.

I missed the fight between Artie and Teddy. Regardless of what happened, I pay a subscription to hear breakdowns, about emotional friends, Artie self-destructing. Whatever happens on the show is what was promised to the fans and listeners. For them to insert Mondays show is Shitty.
I think Artie wants out. This is a good time for everybody to move on.

Howard is covering his ass by not playing the replay. He sounded worried that he would be caught up in a law suit or something. If he was any kind of a friend to Artie he could have gone after him and gone to a commercial.

as much as i hate howard pulling the replay from thursdays show there could be a legality to it. it was a violrnt outburst and there could be legal action against howard or sirius for replaying it so the smart move was to yank it.. it took me all weekend to find it but i cant blame howard or sirius for covering there asses on this
